There will be no change to the services or support you receive at OYCI. Shona is working as part of the REALITIES team. This means that alongside her usual work she will make some notes of their observations or reflections on activities and things that happen in the organisation (called ‘data’). REALITIES is interested in systems and organisational issues so these notes will not be about you or your personal circumstances. Any reflections on conversations or activities will not include your name or anything that might make you recognisable. These will be stored securely and only available to the REALITIES project team.
There are legally binding agreements in place between this organisation and the University of Edinburgh to ensure that this project looks after the privacy of people using community organisations that are part of REALITIES.
This is a three-year project running until 31 January 2027. The findings of this research will be used to engage with policy makers and people who design and develop local services as well as more widely distributed through academic papers and conference presentations. You will not be identifiable from any published findings.
If you have any questions about the REALITIES project, please feel free to ask Shona (shona@oyci.org.uk) or you can ask our REALITIES Project Manager, Leah Soweid (lsoweid@ed.ac.uk) or the Principal Investigator, Dr Marisa de Andrade (marisa.deandrade@ed.ac.uk). If you would like to discuss this research with someone independent of the research and/or if you have concerns about how the research is conducted, please contact the Ethics and Integrity Lead in the School of Health in Social Science (ethics.hiss@ed.ac.uk)
